There is a new partially functional website on the Common Frame of Reference for European Contract Law – and its Interaction with English and German Law: http://cfr.iuscomp.org/ . It is run by Gerhard Dannemann, colleague from Prof. Grundmann and Director, Centre for British Studies Humboldt-Universität:. Date: 11/10/2011: European Commission proposes an optional Common European Sales Law to boost trade and expand consumer choice (EN). An optional Common European Sales Law: Frequently asked questions (EN). The EU Consumer Rights Directive has been adopted but this will have no effect on financial services and labour law and tenancy law.

Today, we have sent a letter to Commissioner Reding with our view of their initiatives and the Green Paper and have included our EuSoCo Declaration from Hamburg 2010.

The January 2011 EuSoCo newsletter provides a brief update of where we stand and what our plans are.It also contains a draft declaration which the Group is thinking about submitting to the European Commission Consultation on its Green Paper on the options for a European contract law.

Die Europäische Union hat eine Kommission eingesetzt, die innerhalb eines Jahres auf der Grundlage des Draft Common Frame of Reference (DCFR 2009) den Entwurf eines Europäischen Vertragsgesetzbuches (CFR) vorlegen soll, der sich dabei vor allem auf die Richtlinien zum Verbraucherrecht beruft.
